15,000 people celebrate Plácido Domingo in Mexico

The stadium ‘3 de Marzo’ in Guadalajara Mexico, hosted a heartfelt tribute to Plácido Domingo together with 15,000 people, who enjoyed a varied and extraordinary roster of artists including guitarist Pablo Sáinz-Villegas. The list included Alejandro Fernández, Juanes, Emmanuel, Mijares, dancers Isaac Hernández and Tamara Rojo, Andrés Calamaro, Ana Torroja, Christian Castro, tenor Javier Camarena, soprano Virginia Tola and the group DVicio.

Pablo and Plácido Domingo performed together “La Morena de mi Copla”, a song from their new album ‘Volver’ with Sony Classical. Pablo additionally played “Recuerdos de la Alhambra” by Francisco Tárrega and “Libertango” by Astor Piazzolla accompanied by the Filarmónica de Jalisco conducted by Eugene Kohn.

Artists donated their talent and proceeds from the concert go to Fundación Real Madrid in Mexico.
